ABOUT ME

David believes optimal wellness is achieved when holistic healthcare works in tandem with modern scientific medicine:  “The body has been created with an innate ability to heal itself.  Healing occurs when the body, mind, and spirit are in balance; and Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine remind us of what we already know – a healthy vibrant life is  our gift”

“Success should be measured by the quality of a person’s life, their capacity to do meaningful and rewarding work, their ability to connect with others, and the depth of their happiness.”

David graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College, in Boulder, Colorado with a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM). His four year education included over 3300 hours of training, with additional work done in the fields of Sports Medicine, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, and Tuina and Shiatsu massage.  He loves treating acute and chronic pain, allergies, sports injuries, digestive diseases, auto-immune illnesses, sleep disorders, and mental health concerns.  He also enjoys working with infertility and ObGyn womens' health cases.  He is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in both Hawaii #1128 and Colorado #1971, and is a Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac.) #5401000187 in Michigan.  He is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCOAM) with a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O. M.)  David recommends that all patients interested in being prescribed Chinese Herbs, look for a practitioner who is board certified as a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine.  It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®). NCCAOM certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbology as defined by the acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) profession.

David’s path to medicine began in his twenties after coping with chronic pain and digestive disorders, when he utilized many aspects of TCM to restore his health and revive his spirit.  He graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College, in Boulder, Colorado with a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) David uses his trained eye to diagnose and treat; and having experienced health challenges himself, he can understand the process one goes through in healing.

In his practice David provides kind, compassionate care, and uses assertive, yet gentle methods.  He has a passion for teaching mental health optimization techniques, utilizing his training as a certified Talking Hearts Coach. Born in Newport Beach, California, David enjoys playing soccer, swimming in waterfalls, ecstatic dance, hiking, and surfing.  He absolutely adores spending time with his two children.  â€‹
